Birud Panchami

Creator
 Birud Panchami

Birud Panchami

"Birud Panchami jado jamalo; Bansant Panchami Kan Kamolo"

Translation: Birud Panchami (a seasonal festival in hills) cold starts freezing (or
increasing); From Basant Panchami the blanket comes on to the shoulder. This simply means, Birud Panchami marks the advent of winter; and Basant Panchami the summer i.e. after Basant Panchami there's no need to cover one's body in a blanket, and hence the blanket is folded and put on the shoulder.

Chaliya Dance In Kumaoni Marriage

Creator

WATCH TILL END FOR FULL ENTERTAINMENT....

Chaliya Dance has its origins in the warring Khasiya Kingdom of Khasdesh, when marriages were performed at the point of the swords. They were united by the Chand kings who arrived' on the scene in the 10th century. In Nepal, the word Khasa is still a synonym for Kashatrya, and in Khasdesh too, they took on the customs of the Rajputs, who were themselves honorary Kashatryas.

Keeping the old tradition alive, the Rajputs dance this at their weddings as a part of the marriage procession itself, led by the male dancers who go on dancing till they reach the bride's house.

Harela Festival

Harela

Welcome to chhaliya world

Welcome to chhaliya world

Welcome to chhaliya world

Welcome to chhaliya world

{अर्थात-हरियाला तुझे मिले, जीते रहो, जागरूक रहो, पृथ्वी के समान धैर्यवान,आकाश के समान प्रशस्त (उदार) बनो, सूर्य के समान त्राण, सियार के समान बुद्धि हो, दूर्वा के तृणों के समान पनपो,इतने दीर्घायु हो कि (दंतहीन) तुम्हें भात भी पीस कर खाना पड़े और शौच जाने के लिए भी लाठी का उपयोग करना पड़े।}
